santa claus is coming to town.

Christmas is always an exciting time for me. It's not only about family and the season spirit: for me, it's also about decoration. Most of you know that I'm also quite into interior design. Therefore, this is definitely the month to be creative. For a couple years until now, I have been the one decorating the house for Christmas. My mom knows exactly how much I like it, so she always leaves this part for me. The tree, the living room, even the entrance, I have a blast decoration all of these.
I feel like I'm a Santa's Helper, helping to spread the Christmas spirit of this season, and its unavoidable magic.

The Corn Silk Translucent Pressed Face Powder is a vintage beauty secret, which has been used by women since the late 1960’s. This product contains a natural walnut shell formula which helps to keep the make-up in place, while absorbing the excess surface oil of the skin. Since it is a translucent powder, it can be used on all skin tones. However, this product is available in two different "shades", with a semi-matt or satin finish. The Corn Silk Powder can be applied as a base for the make up or over foundation to provide lasting shine control. I was sent a sample of the Corn Silk semi-matt Translucent Powder for review purposes. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting a lot of this product due to several reasons. In the first place, I have been using my Make Up For Ever High Definition Powder for the longest time, and this is one of my all time favorite make up products. Besides, I have always been quite critical when it comes to this type of powders, because they all seemed to change the color of my complexion. In this sense, whenever I would use one of these powders, my foundation would turn darker and I looked like I had a fake tan. After using this for the past week, I was pleasantly surprised. To start off, this is one of the lightest powders I have ever tried, and it doesn't look heavy or cakey on the skin. It also doesn't magnify the pores or accentuate wrinkles, which was a problem that I also had with other powders. Plus, it doesn't overdry the skin and gives a really smooth finish. Unlike other powders, this stays neutral and it doesn't turn orange throughout the day. But even though I was surprised with all of this, I have to say that what surprised me the most was how this product didn't make my skin break out. We all know that using powder in excess is not a good thing: first, it clogs your pores, and then it makes your skin break out. Due to this, I only applied powder in the mornings, and during the day I used blotting papers to prevent all of this. However, this powder doesn't seem to aggravate acne and I'm happy to see that I can at least reapply a little bit of powder in the afternoon, when my skin is already oily. I've never thought that this powder would be so good, and I'm actually surprised that it also works out during the winter, when the weather is colder. I was expecting that it would make my skin look drier, but it actually didn’t. Therefore, I recommend this to everyone who is looking for a high quality powder. One of the things that instantly caught my attention was also the packaging, which is wonderful. It's super chic and lady-like, and it actually looks expensive (it's just a shame that my camera didn't pick all the gold details)! And I love that it has a big mirror! Besides, this is such a compact package that it's perfect to carry around with you in your make up bag. The only thing I disliked was the applicator: even though it's quite pretty and fancy, it's not the best to apply the powder.
This comes in a 10g package and it is available for £7.40 (for my international readers, check

Herbal Bio Nature is a Spanish brand of hair care products. Their products combine two different aspects: the latest advances in hair care technology with the cosmetic benefits obtained from only natural ingredients. Their commitment is to offer their costumers the best quality products, while having a caring position towards the environment. They have available more than 10 different hair lines, for each one's necessities.
The Liss Anti-Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner are meant to discipline dry and rough hair, while controlling frizz and smoothing the hair. Among the ingredients used in their formula, there is green tea, olive oil, VitaSerum complex. I have used both of these products together, for more than month. These were also the products that I used throughout the Summer, when my hair was definitely more damaged due to the sun and the salt water. To start off, these were the most brilliant hair products that I have used, regarding their cleansing properties. After washing the hair with these, it just feels very light, very clean and silky. Besides, with both of these products, a little amount goes a long way: that was mainly why these latest for more than a month. The conditioner is so soothing and nourishing that I almost felt like I was using a hair mask. I have to say that the shampoo would be more than enough: for itself, it is already a very moisturizing product. In fact, it was the first time that I used a shampoo and didn't feel the need to use a conditioner afterwards. The end result is just brilliant: the hair is purified, silky and extremely light. Besides this, I think that these work extremely well with heat, making it easier to blow dry your hair and straitening it. I have already tried most of their lines, and I have to say that all of their products are absolutely outstanding. Actually, I still have to find better hair care products than these ones! I have really long hair, which demands a certain attention and care, and these are definitely the best hair products I have already tried! One extra point to this brand is the fact of being eco-friendly and animal-friendly. Overall, these are just amazing products, with a great value.
For my Portuguese readers, you can find these and all of the remaining products at Continente, for approximately 7€ each.

Montagne Jeneusse is a natural, eco-friendly and animal-friendly brand, committed to give to their costumers the best face masks. Their commitment is to only use naturally derived ingredients, and therefore stay away from chemicals and additives that can damage the skin. Among many of their preoccupations, their belief is that products should be made with the minimum of processing, using only pure and natural ingredients derived from plants and mineral sources. Their brand is absolutely against animal testing, and none of their ingredients or products are tested on animals. Besides this, Montagne Jeneusse is able to reach quite a wide diversity of consumers: all of their products are Vegetarian approved and in many cases, their products are also suitable for Vegans. Their products are also recognized by the Vegetarian Society and by BUAV (an organization that fights against animal testing).
The masks that I was sent and that I'll be reviewing today were the Blemish Mud mask, the Masque de Cristal, and the Sauna Masque. The way of using these three masks is the same: before applying any product in your skin, you should rinse it with warm water, leaving it wet; you can then proceed and apply it evenly to your face and neck, leaving it on for 10-20 minutes; after this, the product should be rinsed of the face. A common aspect to all the masks is also the divine scent of each one. All of them smell exactly as they are described, and you have to control yourself to not do something silly (for instance, eating it). The masks showed on the packaging are also similar to the real masks (in terms of color). Regarding the Blemish Mud mask, I actually liked it a lot. After you apply it, the mask dries and it almost seems like a clay masque, tightening the skin (pores included). The thing I liked the most about this, was that it immediately dried my blemishes: even though the redness didn't disappear, I could definitely feel that each blemish was dried. Besides this, I have to say that all of their masks leave the skin as soft as ever, quite silky and smooth. However, I have to admit that a couple of hours later my skin felt a little dry, so applying a moisturizer after is a must. Regarding the Masque de Cristal, I absolutely loved this one. The scent was absolutely amazing, and it felt so relaxing and calming. This is actually one of their warm masks: you have to put the package in contact with warm water before opening it. This is definitely one of my all time favorite masks! Due to its honey content, it felt extremely moisturizing and soothing. This time, I didn't feel any need to apply moisturizer after, and my skin felt, once again, quite silky. The last one, the Sauna Masque, was also quite curious. This is also one of their warm masks: instead of pre-heating, this will instantly warm up as soon as it is in contact with your skin. Besides the relaxing sensation, I liked the scent a lot too. Even though it didn't cleanse my pores that well, I think it's a nice mask to use now and then, to relax. Regarding the packaging, I didn't like it that much because, as you can imagine, things will get messy as soon as you open it up. Besides this, one of these masks will surely do for more than one usage: the quantity of the product is just unbelievable (it will surely be enough to two people). Therefore, I think that the packaging should be rethought to allow more than one use per package. In the end, I had a great time trying these products. Personally, I love face masks. These ones were quite amazing, because of the huge variety that they offer and the undeniable quality, and because of the delicious scents.
These are available worldwide, for approximately 1.80€ each.

The Dr. Organic Aloe Vera Concentrated Cream is one of the products from their Aloe Vera line. This product is described as a naturally soothing, hydrating and rich restorative cream offering all-day care and protection. Its formula, enriched with Aloe Vera, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Sweet Almond oil and Panthenol, turns this product into a super rich and absorbent cream. The Dr. Organic Aloe Vera Concentrated Cream is advised for dry damaged skin, sun exposed skin, stretch marks, scars and uneven skin tone. It can be used on your feet, knees, face, hands, making it a great all-in-one product.
I started using this product back in August and I kept using it until now, because I wanted to prove its effectiveness both on sunburn skin and dry skin. Summer and Winter are indeed two of the most harsh seasons for your skin. The first one is a combination of lethal agents: salt water, the sun and sand. The second one is also quite aggressive towards your skin due to the cold weather (rain, wind, snow). After more than four months of usage I have to say that this product is a complete hit!
I'm always quite used to suffer with sunburns during the Summer: my skin is fairly light, and it doesn't matter how much sunscreen I put on, I'll always get a sunburn. After each day spent at the beach, this was the product that I used to soothe my skin (especially my face and arms). Besides soothing the redness, my skin felt much more healthy, moisturized and fresh. One of the things I hate the most about sunburns is definitely that tickling, warm sensation all over your body. Fortunately, this cream reduced that sensation, making my skin feel extremely fresh and reinvigorated. Now with the cold weather, my skin tends to become a lot drier, especially in my hands, knees, elbows, and face. I have to say that this product has been my savior! Even after a whole day out, my skin is still super moisturized, soft, free of flakiness. Overall, I think this is a wonderful skin staple for the entire year! Even though it's a concentrated cream (and it really is!), the skin absorbs it quite fast, and it's not sticky (neither makes your skin oily). It leaves my skin with a nice velvety sensation and the scent is absolutely amazing. It's fresh and pleasant! Last but not least, the packaging is also quite nice. Since it isn't super big, I've been carrying it around with me, inside my bag. And you can't forget that, once again, all of the Dr. Organic's products are 100% natural, free of harsh chemicals, parabens, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), and artificial colors. Besides, they're against animal testing.
This cream is available on a 50 ml package, which costs £7.39.

This year I'm really excited to annouce my special Christmas Marathon, which will start today and end on the 16th December. Thinking of all the Christmas shopping, this will be a beauty shopping guide. Do you have a beauty addicted friend, but you don't know what to get her yet? Or are you thinking of spoiling yourself a little this Christmas, but have no idea of what to buy? I'm here to help! Every two days, I'll publish a review of a certain product, included in a set of product that were picked for this year's Christmas guide. The products that will be reviewed are both beauty staples for every women, but are also great products for this cold time of the year. Besides this, and hence the year of economical crisis that we are all going through, these products contemplate two of the most important aspects: quality at an acceptable price.
And with this, I'll let the reviews begin!
